Cub Scout Pack 120 based at First United Methodist Church in Nederland, Texas visited us today at Bicycle Sports.
(Pictured from left Jennifer, Austin, Travis & Anthony - Active Members of Pack 120)
We talked about bicycle safety, the rules of the road, maintenance, the anatomy of a bicycle, locking a bicycle and we rode 30 minutes together. Jennifer was our special guest. We accomplished all the requirements for the cycling pin.
We had a small group of three minds, so we stretched our brain discussing a lot of physics related topics like osmosis (why tubes loose air), air density (why helium balloons float) evaporation and vibration (why chains need oil) and surface tension (why wiping excess oil off your chain helps keep it clean) and more... it was an incredible time and these were really sharp kids!
A special thanks to Lisa, their Den Mother for, the snacks and refreshments after the ride, her interest in and promotion of Scouting, and her investment of time and energy in the future of these young men.
Accomplish all the requirements for Cub Scout Cycling Pin in one Cub Scout Go and See Adventure.
